The Indian ceramic giant, KajariaCeramics Limited, recently signed a contract with the Chinese kiln maker, DLTTechnology Co., Ltd. to buy a 116-meter-long tunnel kiln from the latter tostrengthen the production power of their Morbi-based sanitarywaresubsidiary, Kajaria Sanitaryware Pvt. Ltd. The deal marks a milestone for thewell-known kiln manufacturer to have stepped into the sanitaryware market ofIndia. With a wide recognition from the Indian ceramic insiders for thecomplete plant projects supplied by DLT to the Indian slab tile manufacturers,the deal shows a fresh image of DLT to the Indian customers as also asanitaryware equipment provider.

Morbi, a district in the westerncoastal area of Gujarat, India, has been the hub of India’s ceramic industry for several decades,within which, there are more than 700 ceramic tile factories and near about 100sanitaryware factories spreading all over the area. Traditionally, the localsanitaryware manufacturers are used to buying local-made tunnel kilns which arewith the limitation in both the capacity of loading volume and the capabilityof energy saving. However, DLT tunnel kilns for sanitaryware, which havebeen updated in many aspects from temperature adjusting range, gas andpower consumption up to automation in operation, etc. can greatly reduce theunit product cost and overall energy consumption. Soon in the coming future,the launch of the DLT tunnel kiln will obviously redefine the equipment levelof the sanitaryware production facilities in Morbi as well as in the whole Indianmarket.
